Course Familiarisation
To allow competitors in the Otway Odyssey to ride the course before the event, Rapid Ascent will be conducting a number of familiarisation days in the lead up to the big day.
It’s a great idea for all prospective competitors to come and attend these familiarisation days as they provide you with a good insight into what the event will entail, to see what the track is like as well as meet a few other riders and enjoy the beautiful Otway Ranges on your bike!
These days are basically informal group rides or training sessions where all interested cyclists are welcome to join us as we lead riders along all or parts of the course. They are open to everyone (even if you have not entered) and are free of charge to attend. We will provide leadership on the day but otherwise all riders should be self sufficient and carry water, food and bike spares, as well as organize their own transport and accommodation (if needed).
Pending numbers on the day, riders would normally spilt into ‘faster’ and slower’ groups to cater for riders of mixed abilities and fitness levels.
